Business Analyst (North America)                                                                                        

Department: Technical Development

Responsible to: Director of Product Management

 

Role and Responsibilities

To assist with the delivery of development requests and software development projects for Autopart and Warehouse Management Software (WMS) to MAM customers and prospective customers located in North America.

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Manage the development process for customer development requests, from analysis to delivery.

 

Liaise with customers, prospects and third parties to assist in gathering requirements for development requests.

 

Make suggestions on how requirements can be achieved without the need for development.

 

Create detailed development specification documents.

 

Give advice on functionality that is available/not currently feasible.

 

Liaise with the Development Manager to agree development requirements, feasibility, resource requirements and timescales.

 

Assist developers where required in the development phase.

 

Responsible for signing off completed developments with the customer / professional services team.

 

Assist with maintaining details of the outstanding list of developments and communicate with all relevant staff any changes.

 

Keep customers and internal staff informed of individual development project progress.

 

Work with the Professional Services Department to help implement newly developed functionality

 

Make suggestions and recommendations that will help to improve the MAM’s product offering.

 

This role requires occasional travel to visit customer premises within North America.

 

 

 

Additional Duties

Responsible for ensuring development charges/invoices are raised where required for chargeable work.

 

Use web based meeting tool (e.g. Join.me) to demonstrate existing / new functionality where possible.

 

Create required development log attachments (documentation/screen shots) for subsequent documentation.

 

To assist Support Services and Professional Services staff, when required.

 

To assist with the testing of software, when required, and the production of documentation describing new developments.

 

Working individually and as part of a team towards the aims and objectives of the company as a whole.

 

To fulfil Departmental requirements in terms of administrative tasks, and to conform to Departmental policies and procedures.

 

Maintain ongoing working co-operation with managers and staff within the department and the wider workplace.

Qualities and Skills

Reasonable Knowledge of Microsoft SQL would be beneficial.

 

Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and software would be beneficial.

 

Knowledge of warehousing processes and efficient warehouse management would be beneficial.

 

Understanding of software development life cycles and methodologies would be beneficial, but is not strictly required

 

Knowledge of Automotive Aftermarket industry practices would be beneficial, but is not strictly required.

 

The ability to work as part of a team.

 

The ability to build strong relationships with customers.

 

Using initiative and working in a conscientious manner.

 

Strong problem solving ability would be beneficial.
